The Empty Pot: September 2021 Featured Story

Story Summary

The Empty Pot is a fantastic tale that shares important messages with young readers. A young boy named Jun, participates in a plant growing competition. The King provides all the competitors with "Royal Seeds" and whoever grows the biggest plant is to be selected as the next King.

To Jun's dismay, he is unable to grow anything, but his parents convince him to take his empty pot to the King anyway. The other competitors arrive to be judged with massive plants in their pots. When the King sees Jun's empty pot, he informs everyone that it was impossible to grow anything from the seeds provided as they had been "cooked". The King, simply, smiles at Jun.

The Empty Pot depicts the virtue of patience and trying your best at what you do. Remain in the moment, work hard and always lead with honesty.
